Time Resolved Observation of Coherent Phonons in Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7 Thin Films

Abstract

We perform transient pump/probe experiments on YBa2Cu3CO7 films on SrTiO3 using a dispersion balanced colliding pulse mode-locked (CPM) ring dye laser with 50 fs pulses at 2 eV. The samples are laser-ablated and DC-sputtered films with a thickness of 300 nm to suppress multiple interference effects.
