Abstract

The problem of coupling independent, pulsed lasers in a four-wave mixing (4WM) scheme necessitates the availability of very fast and efficient nonlinear media. To find an appropriate material we investigated the effect of the variation of the degree of temporal coherence on the 4WM efficiency with III/V-semi-conductors and organic solvents.
