Abstract

We introduce a new intracavity saturable absorber, more specifically a semiconductor Fabry-Perot saturable absorber operated at antiresonance (A-FPSA), which starts and sustains stable modelocking of a Nd: YLF laser and produces 3.3 ps pulses. In addition, we demonstrate a broadband semiconductor saturable absorber for Ti: Sapphire lasers.
