Abstract

The generation of high energy ultrashort pulses has become a subject of intensive research since the introduction of chirp pulse amplification technique.1 This opens the new domain of relativistic effects in atomic physics, laser plasma or laser electron beam interaction which should be reached at intensities above 1019 W/cm2.2 This necessitates pulses as short and energetic as possible with a good contrast and a phase quality allowing focusing close to the diffraction limit.
