Abstract

The quantum-well structure investigated is the lattice-matched PbSe0.78Te0.22,-EuSe system, where the lead salt alloy is the well material. The effects of nonparabolicity in the well bands on the gain carrier density and gain current density relationships are investigated. We considered separately nonparabolicity bands in the xy directions and in the z direction. Comparisons are made to the parabolic approximation in the xyz directions.
