Abstract

Significant progress in the understanding of the energy spectrum of electronic excitations in Semiconductor quantum dots has been achieved since the first publications of the early 80’s. Recent progress in technology of the semiconductor-doped materials, as well as the use of the methods of size-selective optical spectroscopy, now make it possible to study the homogeneous width of the quantum levels, which is mainly determined by the interaction of the phonons with confined electron-hole pairs. This work is a lined at the investigation of the size dependence of the electron-phonon coupling and quantum confinement of vibronic states in quantum dots of various semiconductor materials.
