Abstract
The dynamics of superradiance of an extended atomic system placed inside the optical cavity are studied. The influence of the light-induced population-inversion grating on the dynamics of superradiance is discussed. It is shown that there are stationary field modes resonantly interacting with the atomic subsystem and involving it in superradiative decay at the maximum rate at a given population inversion density.
