Abstract

Performance of a new type of the Laser Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) is presented. The instrument utilizes a special synthetic probe field, obtained by a holographic method. This field has a pronounced spatial harmonic content. For a single value of a flow velocity, this results in a multiple number of Doppler frequency harmonics present in LDV output signal. Additional frequency components provide additional possibilities for the improving of instruent performance.
