Abstract

In an experiment involving a periodically kicked precessing alignment, we find a pronounced shift of the observed resonances with respect to the positions expected from the Larmor frequency. The shift depends on the magnitude of the magnetic field. It is the aim of the paper to discuss the physical origin of this unprecedented phenomenon.
