Abstract

The use of a tandem array of semiconductor light emitters for current and lightwave amplification has been proposed [1] and the characteristics of such structures have been analysed [2]. This paper models and compares with measurement the noise, gain and distortion of a LED ray amplifier shown in Fig. 1 which may operate in open- or closed-loop form.
