Amplitude squeezing with complex laser structures

Abstract

Squeezing of the amplitude noise below the shot-noise level by using quietly pumped semiconductor laser is a very interesting topic, both from the fundamental and the application point of view. Most of the theoretical works performed until now have been done for Fabry-Perot lasers[1]. Most of the experimental work has also been realised with such structures but a few in which DFB lasers were used[2]. Up to now, only quantum mechanically based models[3,4] have been used to study the performances of such complex laser structures concerning amplitude noise squeezing.
