Abstract
The simplest form of entagled coherent state (ECS)[1], which involves coherent states of two dimensionless complex amplitudes α and β in two modes, can be written as cosθ| α〉 1 β〉+eiφsinθ | β〉 1 | α〉2; such a state is entangled (cannot be written as a product state) and can be shown to violate a Bell inequality [2]. A special case arises for β = 0 where the state |0〉 is the standard vacuum state.
