Abstract
Erbium-doped fibre (EDF) lasers have been investigated for easy compact ultrashort pulsed sources in the 1.56 μm region. Since the gain bandwidth is extensible in the high Er concentration with A1 codoped EDF [1], generation of a broad wavelength tuning is possible. We have demonstrated a passively mode-locked tunable fibre laser that is based on nonlinear polarisation rotation [2]. An easily ensemble and freely movable bulk-type components in the cavity is presented here to reduce the dispersive wave that occur by spectral sidebands and to generate tunable soliton-like pulses by rotating a band-pass filter (BPF) as a tuning element.
