Elliptically-polarised solitons in gyrotropic materials with cubic anisotropy

Abstract

Previously, a wide range of phenomena related to propagation of vector solitons has been considered in the literature [1-3]. In the present work, we show that, in a linearly-gyrotropic Kerr-type medium with cubic anisotropy and without birefringence, a new type of stationary vector solitons appear. They are elliptically-polarised and do not undergo the nonlinear polarisation rotation.
