Abstract

Nonlinear fiber optics is a topic of considerable current interest [I]. The main factors that affect pulses propagating in a fiber are self phase modulation and group velocity dispersion; modifications may arise due to higher order dispersion, Raman effect, etc. We consider the propagation of pulses in a fiber that is closed onto itself, such as to form a ring resonator.
