A new concept of gas laser with pumping by hard electrons, generated directly in the active medium

Abstract

The gas lasers pumping methods using "running" electron beams have been developed last time, allow to solve some problems which are typical for laser concepts with pumping electron beams produced in vacuum diodes. However, these "running" electrons energies do not exceed usually 10 ... 50 keY, and the working gas pressures -15 ... 20 kPa. Such parameters are evidently too low for creating high power gas lasers with big active volume and high enough working gas pressure.
