Abstract

Much attention has been given to light propagation in disordered systems with gain.1-3 In previously studied systems, absorption of the pump beam and spontaneous emission was always present. However, in Raman systems, these complicating characteristics are greatly reduced. In this work we present the results of a series of experiments on stimulated Raman amplification of a probe beam in a sized Ba(NO3)2 powder in the presence of a pump beam.
