Abstract
In a medium with periodical spatial distribution of the quadratic nonlinear susceptibility X(2) one could observe the phenomenon of nonlinear diffraction.1 This means that the effectiveness of parametric wave-mixing processes increases greatly in the directions determined by quasi-phase-matching conditions. For the process of the parametric frequency subtraction it could be written as
