Parametric instability of mode beating and self-mode-locking in a class-B fiber laser

Abstract

In the present report we give physical explanation and evaluate basic parameters of the regular self-pulsation in ring-cavity homogeneously-broadened class-B lasers which take place in the absence of any external modulators and saturable absorbers.
