Abstract

The need for pulsed, tunable coherent spectroscopic sources is well served by various optical parametric oscillator (OPO) and amplifier (OPA) systems. These include injection-seeded OPOs based on lithium niobate (LN): either as a birefringently phasematched medium [1], or periodically poled (PPLN), with the advantages of quasi-phasematched operation [2].
