Abstract
Full control of the light-matter interaction can be achieved by engineering the carrier and photon states in all-solid-state semiconductor microcavities incorporating nanostructures We have successfully inserted one dimensional quantum wires (ID QWRs) into wavelength size, multidimensional microcavities, i.e. 2D photon wells[1], 1D wires and 0D boxes Increasing control over the spontaneous emission process is observed in the spectral, spatial and temporal domain.
