Micro-Fluidic Switchable Photonic Band-Gap Device

Abstract

We present a novel fabrication method for micro-photonic elements utilizing a transverse photonic band-gap fiber. We then tune the optical response of this device by the introduction of fluids into the micro-structure of the fiber.
