Phase-matching between optical and sound waves in forward direction via ultra-slow light

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated phase-matching between optical waves propagating in the same direction and sound wave in the cell of Rb vapor. Phase-matching occurs when group velocity of light is equal to the sound speed.
