Low-damping picosecond coherent vibration of lithographically fabricated silver nanostructures

Abstract

Femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy was used to investigate coherent phonons in a periodic array of silver nanoparticles embedded in a silica substrate. Small energy dissipation is observed compared to random nanoparticles in glass.
