Abstract
Ultrafast nonlinear optical response is reported for Frenkel excitons in organic J-aggregate thin films, resonantly coupled to surface plasmons in gold nanoparticle arrays. We show that tuning the resonance wavelength of the surface plasmon of the arrays to the J-band of the surrounding cyanine dyes results in a strong enhancement of the optical nonlinearity.
