Experimental and theoretical investigations of environmentally sensitive single-molecule fluorophores

Abstract

Spectroscopic studies of the DCDHF class of single-molecule fluorophores reveal a strong sensitivity to the local environment. Electronic structure calculations are performed in an effort to understand this environmental sensitivity and direct the synthesis of new derivatives.
