Nonlinear transmission of a tapered fiber in rubidium

Abstract

The transmission of a tapered fiber surrounded by rubidium vapor can be reduced by atoms accumulating on the fiber surface. We demonstrate that tapered fiber transmission can be controlled by power propagating in the waveguide.
