Ultrafast Studies of Metal Nanorod Coherent Acoustic Oscillations

Abstract

Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy was used to characterize coherent acoustic oscillations of a series of nanorods composed of a wide variety of metals. The oscillations provide information on the nanorods’ composition, structure and relaxation properties.
