Abstract

We demonstrate an actively mode-locked short-cavity laser employing a 151cm-long bismuth-oxide-based highly nonlinear erbium-doped fiber. Stable 10GHz short pulses are obtained with an 87nm tuning range. An 8m-long cavity realizes better stability against external perturbation.
