Effects of molecular adsorption on optical losses of silver surfaces

Abstract

Optical losses of organic molecues adsorbed on the Ag(111) surface are studied by first-principles. Substantial modifications of Im(ε) in the near infrared and visible spectral regions are predicted, discussed, and compared to experimental results.
