Sodium-yellow laser generation from a three-stage χ(2) process in an optical parametric oscillator

Abstract

We investigated three-stage nonlinear frequency conversion in an optical parametric oscillator to generate laser radiation at 589 nm. We successfully demonstrated the sodium-yellow radiation at a threshold of 650 W by using a 1064-nm pump laser.
