Bulk Metamaterial with Hyperbolic Dispersion

Abstract

We have demonstrated bulk (51 µm thick) photonic metamaterial based on anodized alumina membranes filled with silver. The material is highly anisotropic and follows the hyperbolic dispersion law at λ>0.84 µm.
