Abstract
In the conventional Mie scattering theory with dielectrics, resonances only appear in the optical range when the index of refraction tends to infinity. In this article we present a method to obtain optical resonances through the use of Laguerre-Gaussian beams. Using these beams, and due to the properties of angular momentum, we can convert the scattering ripple structure into optical resonances. Both the position of these resonances as well as the linewidth can be modified according to our needs.
