Abstract

The scattering theory [1] is a very versatile theory to express the dispersion interaction between two arbitrary bodies solely in terms of their respective reflection properties. We use the scattering theory to compute the heat transfer between two gold gratings [2] as well as to study the thermal component of the Casimir force between two gratings at thermodynamic equilibrium [3].
