Abstract

Plasmonic nanoantennas are promising tools to control and manipulate optical fields at the nanometre scale [1,2]. In this work, we introduce a novel type of plasmonic nanoantenna especially designed for enhanced single molecule analysis in solutions at high concentrations. The nanoantenna is based on a dimer made of two gold half-spheres surrounded by a box aperture and is milled in a gold film by focused ion beam (FIB).
