Effectiveness of Digital Camera Sensors in Distinguishing Colored Surfaces in Outdoor Scenes

Abstract

Five camera sensors were tested in simulations with hyperspectral data from 50 outdoor scenes. There was a marked variation across sensors in the estimated number of distinguishable colored surfaces, unpredicted by previous related estimates.
