Abstract

We present a method for creating a synthetic aperture (SA) with image interpolation for an incoherent digital holography (IDH) system. The pixel values in the blind areas between the image sensor chips are calculated using the neighborhood pixel values based on bilinear interpolation. We apply the proposed method to experimentally captured holograms in the designed IDH and observe an improvement in the image quality of the reconstructed images, demonstrating that this type of SA promises high-quality three-dimensional image acquisition.
