Abstract

Current holographic data-storage (HDS) technologies have not been commercially developed due in part to the lack of an optical-recording material with appropriate characteristics. The ideal optical-recording material would have high resolution, high sensitivity (for both recording and erasure), high photochemical and thermal stability, optical erasability, permanent storage capability, and read-without-erasure capability (Sincerbox, 1995).
