Abstract

The DVD has the highest recording density in the optical discs of practical use. From such a high density medium, it is difficult to reproduce digital data accurately. We coped with this by developing a Viterbi decoding circuit for DVD players. In the following, we will outline the structure and the efficiency of the Viterbi decoder.
