Abstract

The storage capacity of optical media can be increased by using shorter-wavelength sources. This paper describes a magneto-optic testbed that uses a 532 nm frequency-doubled Nd: YAG light source for magneto-optical media with 0.75 μm track pitch. Up to 25 mW of green light is available at the recording layer.
