Abstract

We developed the disc which adopted organic dye for the recordable high resolution digital versatile disc (HD DVD - R) system with the user data capacity of 15GB which can be recorded. Reflection increased from 9% to 18 % after recording, and showed the big signal modulation with Low to High signal polarity change. The bottom channel bit error rate of 1.0E-5 can be obtained. The wide tilt margin and a power margin can be shown concurrently. Moreover it is realizable as an HD DVD - R disc.
