Abstract

A high NA lens must be used for large capacity optical disks. Generally, a flat disk and high accuracy focus servo system is used for this purpose. We showed that using a high NA lens is easy with an air-stabilized flexible optical disk(1). We also showed that a triangularly arranged stabilizer system can stabilize a disk without complex stabilizer position control(2). The RF signal and focus and tracking servo signal characteristics were studied by using the triangularly arranged stabilizer.
