Bit Length of 57nm Recording on a DWDD Disk Using Turbo Codes with a Blue Laser

Abstract

Turbo code with max-log-MAP algorithm was experimentally applied to a DWDD disk using a blue laser for a high-density recording. An effective bit length of 56.5nm was achieved, and the performance of the Turbo method depends on the number of consecutive 2-bit errors.
