Abstract

Enhancing data density is one of the most important subjects in the field of optical data storage. In all optical recording systems, however, a laser beam spot size is limited by the diffraction limit depending on the wavelength of laser pickup head and the numerical aperture (NA) of the object lens so that the marks with sizes below the resolution limit cannot be accessed. One of approaches, the concept of super-resolution phenomenon, is noteworthy, which have been successfully implanted in both magneto-optical (MO)1,2 and optical memory systems3. Super-RENS effect was also demonstrated in several semiconductor materials such as ZnO4 and CdSe5 for their potential applications in optical recording. In this work, the CdSe-SiO2 SDG layer containing CdSe nanoparticles was be examined for mask materials of super-resolution optical disks
