Abstract

We develop a hyper numerical aperture Blu-ray disc(HBD) recording system with a solid immersion lens. We use a phase change recording media with a 100 μm cover-layer. The HBD pick-up consists of a solid immersion lens with a numerical aperture of 1.41 and a laser diode of 408nm wavelength.
