Abstract

Apart from the optical pulses, the magnetic component of terahertz pulse can be employed to non-thermally drive and manipulate the spin precession in some rare-earth orthoferrites RFeO3 (R=Y or rare earth ion). In this work, we used terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) to study the magnetic field-induced spin reorientation transition (SRT) in a b-cut NdFeO3 single crystal.
