Neutral excitation of atoms and molecules induced by ultrafast strong laser fields

Abstract

We perform joint experimental and theoretical studies on neutral Rydberg state excitation (RSE) induced by 50-fs 800-nm strong laser fields, for both atoms and molecules. Possible mechanism and molecular-structure effect of RSE are discussed.
