Abstract
Extending the operating range beyond average relative humidity (RH, < 20% or >80%) with improved sensitivity, repeatability and accuracy of the fiber-optic humidity sensors are some of the areas which researchers are striving with continual address [1, 2]. This forms the main motivation that has driven our experimental research aiming at developing a prototype of an all-fiber high RH (> 80%) measuring device specifically for agricultural application to evaluate the shear strength, volume change and hydraulic behavior of the soil [2].
