Spatial hole burning, nonlinear phase, and SHG acceptance bandwidth effects in cascaded mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser

Abstract

We study the effect of spatial hole burning at different MgO:PPLN lengths in a positive χ(2) cascaded mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser. A gain grating effect was observed which substitutes for the spatial hole burning (SHB) effect.
