Demonstration of the kilo-Watt strictly single-transverse-mode all-fiber laser

Abstract

A strictly single-transverse-mode all-fiber laser is demonstrated with a 10-um core-diameter Yb-doped fiber. 1-kW output power is obtained with the slope efficiency of 78% and no Raman component can be observed in the output spectrum.
